Week of Nov 12

We learned a new math game today called 'Farkle' that helps us practice our subtraction with regrouping. The instructions are posted in the 'LINKS' section so you can play at home!
We also did a collaborative problem solving task. Ask your child to explain the task using these pictures as a reference.

In social studies we continued to research about India using CultureGrams. Students are investigating the Climate & Land, Religion, Languages and about the Taj Mahal. Ask your child what they know about these areas. We have been practicing reading information then recording it in our own words.

In language arts we are learning how to storyboard important parts of a book. We are going to be making Harry Potter trailers to summarize the novel we read in class. Students are asked to bring in any props or costumes that they feel would help with their trailers. These items will remain at class for the next few weeks.

In science we are going to start our unit on Hearing and Sound to prepare for our field trip to Studio Bell later this month. Field trip forms will be coming home later this week.

Reminders:
- Our CPO field trip is tomorrow. We are scheduled to leave at 9 am. We will return around 12:30 and will be eating lunch in the classroom.
- Email Miss Kowal if you are attending our special class event on Nov 28
